Overview
The Share Widget gives visitors up to six different ways to share a campaign: via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, LinkedIn, or Manually. You can configure a Title, Description, Image, and more to accompany each share.
The Share Widget works in conjunction with other widgets on the campaign. You can add one Share Widget and configure it so that all of the other sharable widgets on the campaign pull information from that one Share Widget, or you can set up one Share Widget for each sharable widget on your campaign. For more information on connecting a Share Widget to another widget on the campaign, see the Widget Sharing article.
Setup
Use the Setup Menu to configure the information that accompanies each share.
- Prompt: The prompt appears above the share buttons on the Campaign.
- Default Share Message Image: The image that's included when sharing to services that support an image. This overrides the default image in the Campaign Settings. For best results, use an image that is at least 1200x630 pixels in size.
- Share Link Format: Choose how the Share Widget displays share options, whether as Text, Icons, or Both. Icon, which displays the icon of each social network, is selected by default. Text displays the name of each social network as a simple text link.
- Select and customize the platforms you'd like to share to: The bottom of the Setup Menu has a list of the platforms to share to.
- Click and drag the handles at the left (
) to arrange them.
- Uncheck the boxes next to platforms you don't want visitors sharing to.
- Click a platform to select it, and use the fields at the right to customize it. Keep in mind that the fields at the right are unique to each Share method. This means that customizing the Share Title for Facebook does not change the Share Title for Google+. The fields available to each Share method also differ, for example, Facebook supports a Share Title, while Twitter does not.
- Manual Share Instructions: Manual sharing gives visitors a URL they can share to any platform they'd like. However, this method does not include a share image or message. Manual Share Instructions are supported when Sharing Manually only.
- Share Title: This overrides the default title in the Campaign Settings. This can be overridden when sharing is enabled in certain widgets. The Share Title is supported when sharing to Facebook, Google+, and LinkedIn.
