How to Select Winners

Overview

When a contest entry period ends, use the Random Entry Picker to select the winner(s).

Getting There

1. Go to the Entries Manager.
2. Filter your entries using the Filter by... options on the left.
3. Click the Actions button at the top of the page.
4. Select Pick Random Entries/Winner(s).

By default, the Random Entry Picker is set to choose one winner. For many contests, you can simply click Submit & Close to select your winner.

Step 1: Filter Entries

Filtering entries allows you to narrow down your pool to the exact group from which you want to pick your winner.

Filtering by Lists

1. In the filtering options, open the Lists section.
2. Click Select Lists.
3. Check the box(es) next to the list(s) to include in the random drawing, then click Select.
4. Confirm the selected list(s) appear in the Lists filter. To remove a list, click the X icon next to the list name.

At this point, only entries from the selected list(s) will appear on the right. This example filters by lists, but you can use other filtering methods to refine your pool.

Note: Only entries that match all selected filtering values will be included.

Step 2: Exclude Entries (If Applicable)

To ensure fairness, you may want to exclude certain entries:

Excluding Fraudulent or Previous Winning Entries

1. Open the Labels section in the filtering options.
2. In the Exclude Entries field, type the label(s) associated with fraudulent entries or previous winners (e.g., “winner”).

Entries with these labels will now be excluded.

Note: The Fraud Filter feature is available for Elite plan users.

Step 3: Choose Options

Once your pool is ready, set up the Random Entry Picker:

1. Click the Actions button at the top.

2. Select Pick Random Entries/Winner(s) from the drop-down.

3. Configure the picker using the following options:

   • Number of Entries to Pick: Enter the number of winners you want. The default is one.
   • Labels to Apply to Picked Entries: Add a label for tracking purposes. The default is “picked [today’s date],” but you can customize or remove it.
   • Give Extra Weight to Entries with Votes/Points: Check this option to give entries additional chances to win based on their votes/points. This is useful for contests combining voting with random selection or using the Refer-a-Friend option. Leave this unchecked for purely random selection.

4. Click Submit & Close to select your winner(s).

Step 4: Delivery

After submitting:

• A message confirms the entry has been selected.
• A notification appears: Picked entries ready.
• Click View to see the selected entry (or entries) in the Entries Manager.

The selected entry will be displayed using the label you set during the process, visible on the left of the Entries Manager.

Contacting the Winner

Once the Random Entry Picker selects a winner:

1. Hover over the selected entry.
2. Click the View Details button to access the winner's details.

Use this information to contact the winner, notify them of their win, and explain how they can claim their prize.
