The Unlock Your Discount Template asks visitors to submit an email address in order to claim an exclusive offer. However, the offer is unavailable until a certain number of people have signed up. Once the number is reached, the offer becomes available. This guide will show you how to set up and customize the Unlock Your Discount Template, with your own content and offer or prize.
Let’s get started!
Building the Campaign
Log in to your ShortStack account and select "Campaigns" from the menu at the top of the page. Click the orange "New" button. When asked "How would you like to start?", click the "Start with Template" button.
Choose the "Unlock Your Discount" template and then click the blue "Use this Template" button.
Enter a name. No one will see this name but you. You can leave it as "Unlock Your Discount," or give it a unique name you’ll remember easily. When you’re done, click "Create Campaign."
If you’re creating a Campaign on your own account or are an account owner or an admin on a team, you can also add any tags that will be associated with this Campaign.
Hover over the logo image and click the pencil icon that appears in the top-left corner to open the Edit Widget Window. Click the "Select Image" button. The Image Selector will pop up so that you can add an image. You can choose to upload a file on your computer, a file on the web, build an image with Canva, or use an image that you’ve uploaded to ShortStack previously. When finished, click Save & Exit.
Edit the Links Widget in the right-hand side of the header by hovering over it and clicking the pencil icon. When the Edit Widget Window opens, click the pencil icon corresponding to the Website link. Customize the Link Text field if you would like, and enter your own URL. Edit the Terms link to change the button text; however, do not change the action it’s linked to. Save & Exit.
Edit the Product Widget within the Offer Container Widget. When the Edit Widget Window opens, click the pencil icon corresponding to the Featured Product. Fill out the fields accordingly, and click Save Item. To add more products, click the blue Add New Item button, and complete the steps to set up a new item. When finished, click Save & Exit.
Hover over the Offer Text Rich Text Widget, click on its pencil icon, and enter a description of the offer. When you’re done, click Save & Exit.
Below the Offer Text Rich Text Widget, find the Thanks Text Rich Text Widget. Its visibility is set to Starts Hidden, so it doesn’t appear in the Live Preview now, but it will appear to users after they submit an entry. Edit it and fill out your own thank you message. You may wish to include details about what will happen when the sign up goal has been reached. Save & Exit.
Step 9 (Optional)
Next is the Entry Count Widget, which displays the number of offers claimed. This widget does not need to be edited in order to work. However, if want to customize the "offers claimed" text, click to edit this widget, select the Text tab, and replace the text in the "Display This Instead" fields. Save & Exit.
Step 10 (Optional)
The Claim Offer Links Widget is set up to access the Entry Form, which is set to Starts Hidden. This widget does not need to be edited in order to work. However, if you want to customize the "Claim Offer" text, click to edit this widget and then click on the pencil icon for the Claim Offer link. Replace what’s in the Link Text field, save the Link Editor, and then click Save Link.
Edit the Entry Form. Find the Entry Form Widget in the Edit Widgets Panel and click on the Edit Form Icon (it looks like a pencil on paper). You will be directed to the Form Designer where you can add, remove, and customize fields.
When you’re finished with the Form fields, click the Form Settings tab and find the Limit Number of Entries section. Check the "Enable total entry limiting" checkbox, and then enter the number of entries required to unlock the discount in the "Allow this many entries" field. Click Save Form to return to the Builder.
Customize the share messages. Edit the Share Widget in the Offer Container Widget. In the the Setup tab, use the checkboxes at the left to choose which platforms are available to share to. Select a Share Image and, for each platform available, fill out the Share Title and Description. Save & Exit.
Once all the offers are claimed, the Offer Container hides, and the Offer Over Column Container appears. Within the Offer Over Column Container, edit the Image Widget, click the "Select Image" button, and select an image to display after the offer period has ended. Click Save & Exit.
Edit the Offer Over Rich Text Widget, and enter a message explaining that the offer is over. When you’re finished, click Save & Exit.
Edit the Offer Over Form Widget, by clicking on the Form Icon (it looks like a pencil on paper). You will be directed to the Form Designer where you can add, remove, and customize fields. Click Save Form to return to the Campaign Builder.
You’re all done! Click the orange "Publish Campaign" button at the top of the Campaign Builder to publish the Campaign to the web. When you do, the confirmation dialog appears, letting you know you’ve successfully published the Campaign. Click the Custom URL button to create a completely custom subdomain and choose a domain.
