Field Settings
Layout
If you want entrants to select more than 1 list option, check the box next to Allow Multiple Selections. When checked, the layout options are List, Checkboxes, and Tiles.
-
List: This shows all list choices at once. An entrant will click to select the choices they want.
-
Checkboxes: All list choices are shown with a checkbox to the left of the choice.
-
Tiles: All list choices are shown as a tile. This is to be used when adding images to the choices.
If you do not want to allow multiple selections, you will have the following layout options:
-
Dropdown: This is the classic drop-down menu where you can pick one of the selections in the menu.
-
Radio Buttons: All list choices are visible with a radio button to the right of the choices.
-
Tiles: All list choices are shown as a tile. This is to be used when adding images to the choices.
-
Text: A blank text field where the entrant has to enter one of the correct list items.
Note: You can use this as a code redemption feature! Click here to learn more.
Text
This is where you would assign any Labels or Prompts (dropdown layout only) for your list field.
Validation
If you'd like your field to be required, you'd check the Required field box in this area. Clicking on the Show advanced options link will give a couple additional choices; whether you want the field to always be required, or only required when the field is visible.
Error Messages
To customize any error messages triggered by your new field, simply add your custom message to the appropriate field.
Content
In this area of the Field Settings, you will be able to add the choices to your list.
Click the blue text Switch to Prompted Input to add images and values to the choice options. Otherwise, you can stay with the Text Input option.
In the Text Input mode, simply type your choices and separate by line for different choice options. If you are using the Text Layout, capitalization does matter.
In the Prompted Input mode, enter your choice text label, then add a value (you can add monetary value if using the Pick Your Prize and Win Your Wishlist Templates), and image.
To add an image, click on the plus sign on the left. The media library will open in a pop-up where you can upload media or select from your library.
To delete a choice, simply click on the trash can icon.
To add a choice, click on the blue button Add Choice.
Select the default value or leave it as no default value to keep the field blank.
Field Points
If you want the field to earn additional points for the entrant's entry, you will set the number of points earned using this area.
Other
A couple of advanced options for your field are found in this area: text added to the Instructions field will appear below the field when it has focus (when it's selected). The Extra CSS classes field allows you to attach a CSS class (or multiple) to your new field so that you can change its appearance by targeting it with custom CSS code using the CSS Editor.
Visibility
If you'd like to limit the visibility of the field to a specific date and time, make the field a pop-up, only show the field in your Builder, or limit in which country/countries the field can be seen; you'd do so in the Visibility section. More information about these settings can be found in the Widget Visibility help doc.
