Overview
When running a campaign with public voting, you may want to collect voter information, such as emails and names, for future use. This guide explains how to set up your campaign to collect voter data effectively.
We have two templates that help collect voter data.
- Vote to Enter - This requires voters to vote first, then enter the form.
- Enter to Vote - This requires voters to enter the form first, then they can access voting.

Step 1: Set Up a Form to Collect Voter Data
This form is only for collecting voter information and is not connected to the Entry Display Widget displaying voteable entries.
- Add a Form Container to your campaign.
- Create a New List for this form and name it something like "Voter Form".
- Add Field Widgets for the data you want to collect (e.g., name, email).
- Adjust Form Settings as needed.
For in-depth form help, please refer to our Form Container and Field Widget help docs.
Step 2: Adjust the Entry Display Widget Vote Button Visibility
- Open the Entry Display Widget settings.
- Navigate to the Voting Tab.
- Click on Advanced Settings and enable Start with vote button hidden.
Step 3: Add an Action Widget
- Add an Action Widget to your campaign.
- Set the WHEN condition to "Form is successfully submitted".
- Set the THEN action to "Show vote button".
Once set up, this process gates voting, ensuring that every voter provides an email address before casting a vote.
What About Email Login?
This feature available on the Pro Plan
If you enable email login voting restriction, emails are not collected—they are only used for the verification process.
