This feature available on the Pro Plan
For tech-savvy users who want full control over their campaign's URL, ShortStack offers the option to publish directly to your own domain. This allows for a completely white-label experience, making your contest URL easier to remember and more on-brand.
Important: Before proceeding, ensure your DNS settings are configured correctly using the instructions in our Custom Domains and Subdomains for Campaigns help doc. Issues with DNS changes are outside the scope of ShortStack support, so proceed with caution.
Steps to Publish to a Custom Domain
Step 1: Prepare Your Campaign
- Open the Campaign Builder and click the blue Publish Campaign button in the top-right corner.
- Review the Campaign Recommendations checklist:
- This checklist helps ensure your campaign is complete.
- Address any flagged items, then click Next.
- Tip: If you don’t want to see this checklist in the future, check the Skip these recommendations in the future box.
Step 2: Set Up Your Custom Domain
- On the publication options page, select Landing Page.
- Click the displayed domain (e.g.,
lndg.page
by default), then select Add Custom Domain from the dropdown. - Enter your domain (including the subdomain, if applicable) into the Add your own domain field, then click Save.
Step 3: Domain Verification
- The system will verify your domain setup (this process may take 10–15 seconds).
- If issues are found, you’ll see an error message. Common scenarios:
- Verification Pending: Click the Verify DNS settings link to retry.
- Error Message: Double-check your DNS settings and allow more time for changes to propagate.
Step 4: Add a Custom Path (Optional)
- To create a custom path:
- Click on the display URL where the path would go.
- Enter your custom path in the Custom Path field, then click the blue checkmark to save.
- If left blank, the campaign will publish to the displayed URL without a path.
Tip: The system checks URL availability in real-time, with results displayed below the Custom Path field.
Step 5: Finish Publishing
- Once your domain and path are set, click Publish.
- After publishing is complete:
- A confirmation message will appear with the campaign’s link.
- Click Copy to save the URL.
- Click the blue Close button to exit the panel.
Unpublishing a Campaign from a Custom Domain
Unpublishing a campaign from a custom domain follows the same steps as any other campaign:
- Click the bookmark icon in the top-right corner of the Campaign Builder to open the Publications Panel.
- Find the publication you want to unpublish and click the unpublish icon (trash can) to remove it.
