This feature available on All Plans
If you've been a ShortStack user for quite some time, you may have some campaigns in your account that were built in our older version of the Campaign Builder, known as S1. S1-built campaigns do not have access to all the up-to-date widgets and features of newer campaigns built on S2 - our latest version of the Builder.
Using the Campaign Upgrade Tool
If you'd like to convert an old S1 campaign to be compatible with S2, you can use our Campaign Upgrade Tool to do just that! Here's how:
- Open the campaign you would like to upgrade in the Campaign Builder.
- Click on the name of the campaign in the top-left corner.
- Select Upgrade campaign to S2 in the drop-down menu.
- A new tab will open in your browser, in the S2 version of the Builder; you'll see the following pop-up:
As this pop-up explains, you are making a copy of your original campaign that will be compatible with the S2 version of the Campaign Builder. - Use the Name your campaign field to give your copied campaign a new name. You'll also need to choose whether to copy or keep any existing lists attached to the original campaign, and whether to keep the original campaign/list permissions.
- When you're finished with your configurations, click the Upgrade Campaign button. You'll be directed into the Campaign Builder, viewing your new S2-compatible copy of the original campaign!
Limitations of Upgrading S1 Campaigns
Unfortunately, there are some limitations worth mentioning with our upgrade tool. You will notice that some older widgets are incompatible with S2, and that certain template functionality may not work. Also, any theme settings and custom CSS added to the original campaign will be removed in the updated copy.
- For deprecated widgets, we recommend finding a workaround (for example, using an Entry Display Widget or Image Widgets instead of the deprecated Gallery Widget to display images). The features of most of our deprecated widgets can be replicated using our current widget lineup.
- For template functionality issues, we recommend building out the campaign from scratch using the updated version of the same template - if you happen to find a template for which we do not have an updated version available, please reach out to our support team at theteam@shortstacklab.com and let us know.
Also note: When upgrading a campaign using the Upgrade Tool, the original campaign is not altered in any way - so you can go back and use it for comparison if needed, and delete it when you no longer need it.
Note: If you are one of our Legacy subscription plans, the Campaign Upgrade Tool will not be available. You'll need to upgrade to one of our current plans to enable access.
