What is ShortStack?
ShortStack is a Software as a Service tool (or "SaaS" for those in the know) used to create campaigns that you can publish anywhere on the web. To design, publish and manage your campaigns, simply log in to shortstackapp.com.
ShortStack Main Menu
Here’s a summary of the sections you’ll find in ShortStack’s main menu:
The Dashboard is where you can view data for active campaigns. It should look familiar, as it's the first page you'll be directed to when you log in. Clicking the ShortStack icon in the Main Menu will bring you directly to the Dashboard.
The Campaign Builder is where you design and publish a campaign. Clicking the hammer icon in the Main Menu will bring you directly to the last campaign you worked on.
The Campaigns Manager, or Campaigns for short, is where you manage campaigns (including deleting or archiving) and create new ones. There are also tiles displaying all the campaigns you have created previously that show a range of information.
In the Entries Manager you can view, filter, and export your Entries from all of the campaigns on your account. You can also use the entry picker, and copy your entries to new lists.
The Emails (Emails Manager) section displays your current and past autoresponder, follow-up, and scheduled email campaigns. Here you can create new emails, edit existing emails and delete or archive emails you no longer need.
In the Lists Manager you can create new Lists. You can also edit, delete, or archive the ones you’ve already created and set up imports.
The Feeds section (Feeds Manager) displays the various Instagram and Twitter feeds you are currently pulling content into, or that you have used in the past.
The Code Lists Manager shows all the Code Lists you've uploaded to your account for use in emails or code redemption campaigns. You can also add new code lists, and see the total number of codes issued and redeemed at a glance.
If you have any Custom Domains set up for publishing, you can find them in the Custom Domains Manager. The panes display information about whether the DNS has been verified, and also if the domain is currently being used for a campaign or not.
When you set up forms in your campaigns, you'll need to add Field Widgets. If you set up any custom field types, those fields will be saved here in the Field Library. A dashboard shows you how many of each custom field type you've used, and the panes display information about each individual field.
ShortStack hosts and organizes all of your media files in your Media Manager. The Media Manager accepts JPG/JPEG, PNG, GIF, PDF, MP3, CSS, JS, and XML files that are under ten (10) megabytes. Here you can browse all your media files, upload new ones, and delete them.
The Tags Manager displays all the tags you use to organize your campaigns, lists, feeds, media, and entries. Each tag also displays how many pieces of content are connected to it.
Templates are pre-made campaigns you can use as the basis for your campaigns. You can choose from designs that we’ve made (from our Template Gallery - shown below), or you can choose designs that you’ve created.
When browsing Public Templates, you can hover over a thumbnail for more options. Once you click Use this Template, you are directed to the Campaign Builder so that you can start building your campaign using the selected template.
When you've created a design you like, you can save it in the Style Panel as a Theme. This way, it's easy to use the same design aesthetic in multiple campaigns. The Themes section shows you all of the custom themes you've created and allows you to manage and use them.
Clicking the bell icon will display any current notifications on your account. These can be alerts on entry export completion, winner selection, or updates from the ShortStack team on new features.
To manage your account, click your name in the top-right corner of ShortStack. Here you can upgrade or downgrade your plan (Upgrade), change your billing and contact information (Account Summary), and manage your ShortStack preferences (Preferences). Options are also available (Manage Team, Switch Team) if you belong to or run a team. Read the Managing Your Account doc for more information.
To access any of our support resources (including our friendly support team!) simply click on the Help icon in the top corner and a pop-up will appear with all the different options you have to get assistance.
