Overview
The Campaign Builder has many features that can streamline the creation of your campaigns. Whether you’re new to ShortStack or already skilled with WYSIWYG builders, these tips and tricks will help you build campaigns faster and more efficiently.
Editing
1. Copy and Paste Widgets
You can copy and paste widgets between campaigns, saving time when reusing elements.
Steps to Copy and Paste Widgets:
- Select the widget you wish to copy by clicking on it.
- Press Cmd + C (Mac) or Ctrl + C (PC).
- Paste the widget by pressing Cmd + V or Ctrl + V.
- The widget will appear at the top of the Edit Widgets Panel.
- Drag and drop the copied widget to your desired location.
Copying Between Campaigns
- Open two tabs: one with Campaign A (source) and another with Campaign B (destination).
- Copy the widget from Campaign A and paste it into Campaign B.
Note: Avoid copying widgets from interactive templates (e.g., quiz templates) to a new campaign, as it may break functionality. Instead, copy other widgets into the interactive template to retain functionality.
2. Undo/Redo
ShortStack provides undo/redo buttons for quick adjustments:
- Widget Settings: Located at the bottom of the Edit Widgets Panel (left side).
- Style Settings: Located at the bottom of the Style Panel (right side).
To reset all settings for a specific widget:
- Click Clear # settings for this widget to remove all customizations except for the theme.
3. Create a Template or Copy a Campaign
Save time by creating templates or duplicating campaigns.
Steps to Create a Template or Copy a Campaign:
- Open the campaign in the Campaign Builder.
- Click the campaign name in the top-left corner.
- Select Make template from campaign or Make copy of campaign.
- Follow the steps in the wizard.
- For copies, the Campaign Builder will refresh with the duplicated campaign.

Finding and Using Custom Templates
Steps to Access and Use Custom Templates:
- From the Home Page, click Manage > Templates.
- In the Templates Manager, locate your custom templates.
- Use the buttons on the right to:
- Create a new campaign using the template.
- Edit the template in the Campaign Builder.

Styling
1. Creating a Theme
Save your campaign’s design as a reusable theme.
Steps to Save a Theme:
- Open the Style Panel.
- Click the three-dot menu at the bottom-right.
- Select Add to My Themes.
Unique Themes per Campaign
- Changes made to a theme apply only to the campaign it’s saved with.
- To override a theme across all campaigns, save it with the exact same name.
2. Adding CSS
Customize your campaign further using the CSS Editor.
How to Access the CSS Editor:
- Open the Style Panel.
- Click CSS (blue text at the top-right).
- Add your custom CSS code in the pop-up editor.
Tip: Use tools like ChatGPT to generate CSS code if you're unfamiliar with writing it.
Examples of CSS Requests:
- "Provide CSS to center a button."
- "Provide CSS to change the hover color of element XYZ."
